Conference: 2026 TNSPRA - Tennessee School Public Relations Association Annual Conference, Franklin, TN
Presentation Date: Feb. 19, 2026
Audience: K12 Communications Directors
Session Description:
This session explores how AI can be used to strengthen, not replace, professional communications work. We will examine real-world applications such as drafting and refining district messages, adapting tone for different audiences, supporting multilingual communications, and maintaining consistency across email, web, and social platforms under tight timelines. The focus remains on strategic use. Participants will discuss where AI adds value, where human judgment must remain central, and how to establish guardrails around accuracy, privacy, and voice. Special attention is given to risk management, including over-automation, misinformation amplification, and public perception when AI is used in school communications.
By the end of the session, communications leaders will have a clearer framework for evaluating AI tools, integrating them into existing workflows, and using them responsibly to improve efficiency while protecting trust, transparency, and institutional credibility.
